Happy New Year’s Eve!
2016 been a big year for eSpokes. As we look back at this year in review we are reminded, first and foremost, of the amazing people we have the privilege of interacting with every day.
People come to see us for lots of reasons. Sometimes it’s because they have always loved riding bikes and now those big hills are making it more difficult to ride the way they want.
People come to see us because they want to make positive changes in their lives. One of our favorite customers decided he needed to find a way to exercise everyday so he sold his car and bought an ebike and has been commuting to work EVERY DAY since then. (Check to hear Matt’s story here.)
People come to see us because they have heard about electric bikes and they want to see what all the excitement is about. Interactions with these customers are some of the most thrilling because they are genuinely surprised at how fun and easy it is to ride an ebike. We love their ear to ear smiles on their test rides.
People also come to us because they want to make a difference- even in little ways- to help the planet we all share. We were thrilled to partner with Adobe this year at their annual Health Fair to share how commuting bikes, cargo bikes, etc., can help lower emissions, improve everyone’s carbon footprint, and health.
In addition to the great people we worked with this year, The calendar was full of activites and events. In January, we had our first of three moves. Each move took a lot of time and focus, and we feel each move prepared us for an exciting 2017. We are in one space, consolidating all our resources to best serve you.
In February Governor Herbert signing new Legislation classifying electric bikes as bicycles and not motorized vehicles; one of a handful of States leading the nation that is pro-actively welcoming ebikes to their state. Read are detailed article about why we needed this important legislation here. We are very proud of the work we were able to create. Many thanks to People for Bikes and Bike Utah for their assistance.
In the Spring we attended the Sea Otter Classic and witnessed the first-ever North American eMBT race. With each events like this we see more and more riders embracing ebikes. It’s exciting. The end of Spring marked the second of three moves as we closed the St. George store and consolidated both stores into one flagship location in Daybreak.
2016 was a big year for the ebike industry and eSpokes’ role in the industry. David was selected to Chair the newly created Boshe Dealer Advisory Board and continues to work with Bicycle Product Suppliers Association, the US bicycle industry’s trade association in operation for 102 years.
The Fall brought travel to Interbike in Las Vegas and Eurobike in Germany. This Fall we also made the last of our three moves.
These last few months we have enjoyed meeting with our valued manufactures at dealer conferences for Kalkhoff and Pedego. We area aslo pleased to announce that Dan completed a rigorous certification at Sram University in Colorado.
In December we celebrated our 4th year in business and launched our new website which features easy to access ebike information, improved functionality, and a clean new look.
It's been a busy and wonderful year and we look forward to a great things in 2017. Watch for announcements of some new brands (we're really pumped!). These new brands combined with the best ebikes from our current brands; Kalkhoff, Focus, Haibike, Easy Motion, Felt, Pedego, and Xtracycle, ensure that each person we meet can find their perfect ebike.
Again, we are always grateful for the great people who walk through our doors. Thank you for letting us be part of your lives this year.
We hope the new year brings you joy and happiness, and that you continue to find great ways to enjoy life; to enjoy your Freedom to Ride.
Happy New Year!
